Vegetation Management and Maintenance

In 2005, TDB Consultants combined our Professional Forest Management expertise and our ongoing experience with our Small Scale Sanitation Treatment programs, under one umbrella department to provide a unique service to major utility customers. TDB's Vegetation Management offers complete Planning, Monitoring, Health and Safety, Regulatory, Performance Tracking and the removal or harvesting of the target vegetation. To achieve these results TDB employs a complete team including Registered Professional Foresters, Certified Utility Arborists, ISA Certified Arborists, WorkSafe BC Certified Fallers, Photogrammetrists, GIS Analysts, GIS Technicians and other associated professionals.

Vegetation Projects

  • BC Hydro: Various sites and contracts for Hazard Tree Removal with approximately 20,000 stems in 2006.

  • BC Transmission Corporation: Various sites of Hazard Tree Removal with approximately 6,500 stems in 2006.

  • BC Hydro: Pine Beetle Logging of the Ootsa/Takysie Lake pilot project, harvesting small scale salvage pine beetle killed timber adjacent to power lines utilizing conventional harvesting equipment.

  • City of Prince George: TDB has been working with the City of Prince George for 5 years with their Mountain Pine Beetle Program. (link)

  • School District 57

  • Fraser Fort George Regional District 2006: Fire Smart Program to remove Mountain Pine Beetle killed timber from regional parks.

  • Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park / Pinnacles Provincial Park 2006: Remove Mountain Pine Beetle killed timber from Ten Mile Lake and Pinnacles Provincial Park. Approximately 7,500 stems.

  • The town of Banff: Fire Smart Program to thin timber stands within the town of Banff.

  • Banff National Park: Remove and salvage Pine beetle killed trees around the town of Banff Alberta.

  • Fall and Burn: Various industrial clients with approximately 25,000 stems from 1996 to 2000.

  • Teshmont (Royal Oak Mine): Preparation and completion of three Licenses to Cut encompassing approximately 380km of power line corridor to Forest Practice Code standards including Stream and Riparian zone marking and management , GIS, GPS mapping, Road Location layout , Timber Cruising and Economic Analysis of timber and appraisal values.
